beplain Mung Bean Pore Clay Pack 200ml
Six clays, and an enzyme at the end of the list.
It absorbs and loosens at the same time — two jobs most clay masks only do one of.
Cool and thick going on.
What this pack does
A 200 ml clay mask built on mung bean with six clay minerals — Kaolin, Bentonite, Illite, Montmorillonite and two named regional clays — plus coconut shell powder and a Protease, formulated to draw out sebum and loosen surface build-up.
Three ways of clearing a pore, in one tub
Clay adsorbs: Kaolin and Bentonite bind oil and lift it away as the mask dries. Coconut shell powder abrades: a physical polish as you rinse. Protease digests: an enzyme that works on protein bonds at the surface, which is the gentlest of the three. Most clay masks do only the first.
Key ingredients
Ingredient · What it is, and what it is used for
- Vigna Radiata Seed Extract
- Extract of mung bean seed.
- Kaolin
- Hydrated aluminium silicate clay. Soaks up surface oil; makes it opaque rather than clear.
- Bentonite
- Colloidal aluminium silicate clay. Soaks up surface oil; stops the mix separating over time; sets how thick it is.
- Montmorillonite
- Smectite clay mineral. Soaks up surface oil; sets how thick it is.
- Illite
- Mica-group clay mineral. Soaks up surface oil.
- Calamine
- Zinc oxide with ferric oxide. Gives it its colour; forms a protective layer on the surface.
- Cocos Nucifera Shell Powder
- Powder from coconut shell. Physically scrubs.
- Protease
- Proteolytic enzyme.
- Niacinamide
- Vitamin B3. Studied for evening out the look of tone, for the look of pores, and for breakout-prone skin — which is why it turns up in so much of this catalogue.
- Chlorella Vulgaris Powder
- Powder from Chlorella vulgaris.
- Allantoin
- Heterocyclic diureide. Used to calm irritation.
- Hydrolyzed Extensin
- Plant-derived glycoprotein fragment.
How the formula works together
Glycerin, Diglycerin and Glyceryl Glucoside sit high on the list, which is what keeps a six-clay mask from turning into a drying one. Calamine and Allantoin work on the look of irritation — the usual cost of a clay mask on skin that is already reactive.
Note the essential oils near the end: Siberian fir, rosemary, clary sage, Roman chamomile, juniper and German chamomile. They give the mask its scent and they are fragrance material, which is worth weighing against how often you intend to use it.
Who it is for
Labelled for oily and congestion-prone skin. Contains physical abrasive and essential oils; a weekly step rather than a daily one.
How to use it
- On cleansed, dry skin, spread an even layer over the oily areas.
- Leave for 10 to 15 minutes — remove before it cracks.
- Massage lightly with wet fingers to use the coconut shell powder, then rinse.
