What this sun essence does
A 40 ml chemical sunscreen essence built on five organic UV filters, carrying Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid and Asiatic Acid from centella with Ceramide NP, Cholesterol, Ectoin and Panthenol.
A sunscreen with skincare actually in it
Most sun essences claim skincare and deliver a humectant. This one has the centella triterpene set — the three isolated acids the plant is valued for — plus two barrier lipids, Ectoin as an osmolyte, and Panthenol. That is a genuine second job, not a garnish.
One naming note, since the range is called Madeca: madecassoside itself is not on this list. What is here is Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid and Asiatic Acid. They are the same family and the same plant, but if you came specifically for madecassoside, this is not the product that carries it.
The scent is not incidental
Geranium flower oil and sweet orange peel oil are on the list, and with them four declared fragrance components: Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol and Linalool. Alcohol Denat. sits at position nine.
For a product named Safe Sun, that combination deserves saying out loud. It is a well-built sunscreen with real skincare in it, and it is also fragranced and alcohol-containing. If your skin reacts to either, that matters more than anything else on this page.

- One of the isolated triterpenes from centella. Naming it means the active is measured in, not just carried along in a whole-plant extract.
- Asiatic Acid
- Another isolated centella triterpene. Used to calm the look of redness.
- Ceramide NP
- Ceramide 3. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own.
- Cholesterol
- Sterol. One of the three lipid classes skin's outer layer is built from — ceramides and fatty acids are the other two, and they work as a set rather than alone.
- Ectoin
- Bacterial osmolyte. Sets the pH; softens by filling the gaps between surface cells — studied for protecting cells against water and UV stress.
- Panthenol
- Provitamin B5. Used to calm irritation, and pulls water into the surface and holds it there.
How the formula works together
The filter block occupies the top of the list: Homosalate, Octocrylene, two salicylates and avobenzone, with Ethylhexyl Methoxycrylene further down to hold the avobenzone steady. That is a conventional, well-photostabilised chemical system.
The texture comes from Dibutyl Ethylhexanoyl Glutamide and Dibutyl Lauroyl Glutamide — amino-acid gelling agents that turn an oily filter load into something that spreads like an essence rather than a cream. Caprylyl Methicone and a silsesquioxane give the dry finish.
Underneath sit the skincare actives, plus Biosaccharide Gum-1, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitol and Aspergillus Ferment.

How to use it
- As the last morning step, apply an even layer about 30 minutes before sun exposure.
- Avoid the eye and lip area.
- Reapply through the day if you are outdoors.
