What this toner does
A 150 ml toner in which Centella Asiatica extract, leaf extract and root extract occupy positions one, two and three, closed with all four isolated centella triterpenes and maritime pine bark extract.
Nineteen ingredients, and the order is the whole story
Almost every toner opens with water. This one opens with three centella extracts and does not reach water until position fourteen — after the glycols, after Betaine, after Panthenol and Glycerin. The plant is the base of the formula, not something added to a base.
At the other end sit Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid and Madecassoside — the four isolated triterpenes centella is valued for, added on top of the whole-plant extracts rather than instead of them.
What is not in it
No fragrance. No essential oil. No alcohol. No acid. No niacinamide. Nineteen ingredients total, and eight of them are centella in one form or another.
That makes this a genuinely quiet first step — the kind you can use twice a day on skin that is reacting to something else, and the kind that will not conflict with whatever you layer next.

- Provitamin B5. Used to calm irritation, and pulls water into the surface and holds it there.
- Allantoin
- Heterocyclic diureide. Used to calm irritation.
- Betaine
- Amino acid derivative from sugar beet. Used to pull in water and hold it.
- Pinus Pinaster Bark Extract
- Extract of maritime pine bark. Slows oxidation, in the formula and on skin.
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
- Medium-chain triglyceride from coconut. Used to soften by filling the gaps between surface cells.
How the formula works together
There is almost nothing here that is not doing a job. Three centella extracts as the base. Two glycols and Betaine to hold water. Panthenol and Allantoin on the look of irritation. Two polyglyceryl esters and one triglyceride to carry the oil-soluble triterpenes into a water formula. One preservative pair.
Maritime pine bark is the only other active, and it is an antioxidant.
Nineteen ingredients is a short list by any standard, and short lists are the easiest to tolerate.

Labelled for all skin types, and suited to reactive skin. No fragrance, no alcohol, no acid.
How to use it
- After cleansing, soak a cotton pad and sweep gently over the face, avoiding eyes and mouth.
- Or pour into the palms and press in — it is thin enough for either.
- Pat the whole face to finish. Morning and night.
