How the formula works together
Three groups of ingredients are doing the work here. Humectants — Butylene Glycol and Caprylyl Glycol — draw water into the surface. Cetyl Ethylhexanoate sits on top and slow how fast that water leaves. Tocopherol slows oxidation, in the bottle and on the surface.
Humectants and emollients and lipids are the pairing that matters here: water pulled in by one, held there by the other. That is the difference between skin that feels comfortable an hour after application and skin that feels comfortable at bedtime.
