What this lotion does
A 350 ml body and face lotion built on Shea Butter with a ceramide analogue, Cholesterol and a run of fatty acids, formulated for skin that is dry enough to need volume rather than a small jar.
The lipid trio, again
Hydroxypropyl Bispalmitamide MEA is a pseudoceramide — a synthetic stand-in for the ceramides skin makes itself. Cholesterol is on the list too, along with Myristic, Lauric, Palmitic and Stearic Acids. Those three classes together are what the outer layer of skin is built from, and a lotion that carries all three is doing something more specific than adding oil.

- Glycerin
- Polyol. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own; used to pull in water and hold it.
- Panax Ginseng Root Water
- Aqueous distillate of ginseng root.
- Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract
- Extract of licorice root.
- Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Extract
- Extract of beet root.
- Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract
- Extract of perilla leaf.
- Mannitol
- Sugar alcohol. Pulls water into the surface and holds it there.
- C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside
- Sugar-derived non-ionic surfactant. Keeps oil and water from separating; does the cleansing.
- Behenyl Alcohol
- C22 fatty alcohol. Stops the mix separating over time; sets how thick it is.
- Tocopherol
- Vitamin E. Used to slow oxidation, in the formula and on skin.
How the formula works together
Glycerin and Propanediol hold water; the shea, silicones and fatty alcohols slow its exit; the pseudoceramide, Cholesterol and fatty acids give the surface material to work with. That is the standard architecture for a barrier lotion, and this one runs it without fragrance, colourant, mineral oil or paraben on the list.
The silicones — Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Dimethicone — are why it absorbs fast for something this rich. If you avoid silicones this is not the lotion for you; if you want a barrier cream that does not feel like a barrier cream, they are the reason it works.

How to use it
- Apply to damp skin after washing, while it still holds water.
- Use over the body as well as the face; the pump is sized for it.
