medicube Zero Pore Pad Mild 155g(70 Pads)
The mild one. No acids, no alcohol, no citrus oils.
Same pad format as the 2.0, an entirely different formula.
Soft side to press, waffle side to sweep.
What this pad does
A 70-count dual-textured pad soaked in a soap-based cleansing liquid — fatty acids neutralised with Potassium Hydroxide — with purslane, wintergreen and camellia flower extracts, formulated to take off surface build-up by washing rather than by acid.
Not a gentler acid — no acid at all
This is worth being precise about. The 2.0 pad works with Lactic Acid and Betaine Salicylate. This one contains neither. What does the work here is a soap system: Myristic, Palmitic, Stearic and Lauric Acids saponified with Potassium Hydroxide, supported by Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate. It cleans the surface; it does not chemically exfoliate it.
Key ingredients
Ingredient · What it is, and what it is used for
- Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate
- Amino-acid surfactant from coconut. Cleans at skin's own pH rather than raising it the way soap does.
- Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate
- Isethionate surfactant. Does the cleansing.
- Potassium Hydroxide
- Inorganic base. Sets the pH.
- Cetearyl Olivate
- Olive-derived ester of cetearyl alcohol. Keeps oil and water from separating; softens by filling the gaps between surface cells.
- Sorbitan Olivate
- Olive-derived sorbitan ester. Keeps oil and water from separating.
- Portulaca Oleracea Extract
- Extract of purslane.
- Gaultheria Procumbens Leaf Extract
- Extract of wintergreen leaf.
- Camellia Japonica Flower Extract
- Extract of camellia flower.
- Saponaria Officinalis Leaf Extract
- Extract of soapwort leaf.
- Dimethylmethoxy Chromanol
- Chromanol derivative. Slows oxidation, in the formula and on skin.
- Melissa Officinalis Extract
- Extract of lemon balm.
- Sorbitol
- Sugar alcohol. Pulls water into the surface and holds it there.
How the formula works together
A soap system cleans well and rinses clean, but soap raises pH — that is chemistry, not opinion. Here it is buffered by Glycerin and Sorbitol high on the list and by the olive-derived esters that follow, which is how a wash-type formula is made to sit on a pad without leaving skin tight.
The botanical half is short and quiet: purslane, wintergreen, camellia flower, soapwort, lemon balm. There is Parfum on the list, but no essential oils, no denatured alcohol and no acids — the three things that make the 2.0 pad the harder product to tolerate.
Who it is for
Labelled for sensitive skin. Choose this over the 2.0 if acids or fragrance oils have been a problem before. Contains Parfum.
How to use it
- After cleansing, wipe the embossed side gently over the face.
- Use the smooth side to press over the areas that need it.
- Suitable for more frequent use than the 2.0 pad; follow with toner and moisturiser.
