What this pack does
A two-part modeling pack — a 50 ml ampoule plus a rubber mask powder you mix yourself — from the Madecassoside line of MEDIHEAL's Derma Modeling range, formulated as an occasional calming session rather than a daily step.
How a modeling pack actually works
This is not a mask you spread and rinse. You pour cold water into the bowl to the marked line, tip in the powder, stir with the spatula and apply immediately — the mixture sets fast. Fifteen minutes later it has cured into a flexible rubber sheet you lift off whole.
The point of the format is occlusion. A sealed rubber layer stops water leaving for the whole wear, which is why the ampoule goes on first and why the instructions tell you to apply it again afterwards. The pack is the lid; the ampoule is what is being held under it.
About the ingredient list — read this before you buy
Our supplier provided eight ingredients for this product: Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Triethylhexanoin, 1,2-Hexanediol and Arginine.
Madecassoside is not among them, and this pack is named for madecassoside. Eight entries is also far short of what a finished ampoule normally declares. Both facts point the same way: what we were given is a partial list, not the full declaration.
We are not going to fill the gap by guessing, and we are not going to print a centella claim we cannot show you on a label. What we can tell you is what the eight entries contain — Niacinamide at position five, which is a real inclusion — and that the rest is unverified. - Niacinamide
- Vitamin B3. Studied for evening out the look of tone, for the look of pores, and for breakout-prone skin — which is why it turns up in so much of this catalogue.
- Glycerin
- Polyol. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own; used to pull in water and hold it.
- Triethylhexanoin
- Glyceryl triester. Sits on top and slows how fast water leaves; dissolves the rest so the formula stays one liquid — the only emollient named.
- Arginine
- Basic amino acid. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own; also used to set pH.
- Dipropylene Glycol
- Diol. Dissolves the rest so the formula stays one liquid.
- Butylene Glycol
- Diol. Used to pull in water and hold it; dissolves the rest so the formula stays one liquid.
- 1,2-Hexanediol
- Diol. Dissolves the rest so the formula stays one liquid; also a preservative booster.
- Water
- Solvent. Dissolves the rest so the formula stays one liquid.
Who it is for
Labelled for blemish-prone skin, as an occasional session. Messy by design — do it over a sink. Buy it for the format and the niacinamide; the madecassoside claim is not something we can verify from the label we hold.
How to use it
- On clean skin, apply the ampoule first and let it sink in.
- Pour cold water into the bowl to the marked line, add the powder, and stir with the spatula.
- Apply quickly and thickly — it starts setting immediately.
- Rest for 15 minutes, then lift the hardened pack off in one piece.
- Apply the ampoule a second time to finish.
