What this mask does
A 35 ml gel mask, ten to a box, carrying Collagen, Soluble Collagen, Hydrolyzed Collagen and Collagen Extract with Niacinamide, Glutathione and shea butter, formulated as a cooling, high-contact firming step.
Four kinds of collagen is not marketing arithmetic
Whole Collagen is far too large to pass the surface — it sits as a film that holds water, which is a real and useful thing for a mask to do. Soluble and Hydrolyzed Collagen are progressively smaller fragments, listed as humectants. Collagen Extract is the raw material. Each does a different job at a different size, and the label names all four rather than hiding behind one.

- Water-soluble collagen fraction. Pulls water into the surface and holds it there.
- Hydrolyzed Collagen
- Collagen broken into fragments small enough to stay dissolved. It holds water at the surface — it does not become your collagen, and nothing applied to skin does.
- Niacinamide
- Vitamin B3. Studied for evening out the look of tone, for the look of pores, and for breakout-prone skin — which is why it turns up in so much of this catalogue.
- Glutathione
- Tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine and glycine. An antioxidant the body makes for itself; in a jar it is protecting the rest of the formula as much as your skin.
- Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter
- Shea butter. Sits on top and slows how fast water leaves, and softens by filling the gaps between surface cells.
- Jojoba Esters
- Esters derived from jojoba oil. Softens by filling the gaps between surface cells.
- Adenosine
- Purine nucleoside. One of the few ingredients Korea approves a wrinkle-care claim for.
- Coptis Japonica Root Extract
- Goldthread root extract. Used to calm the look of redness.
- Lycium Chinense Fruit Extract
- Extract of goji berry.
- Punica Granatum Fruit Extract
- Extract of pomegranate fruit.
- Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate
- Licorice root derivative. Used to calm the look of redness.
How the formula works together
The gel matrix — Chondrus Crispus in two forms with carob gum and cellulose gum — is what makes this a gel mask rather than a soaked sheet. It stays cool, holds shape, and does not dry out mid-wear, which is why the mask can be left on longer than a cotton sheet.
Shea butter, jojoba esters and two light esters give it a lipid phase, so skin does not feel bare when the mask comes off. Niacinamide and Adenosine are the two signalling materials; Glutathione the antioxidant.
Rosemary and lavender oils are on the list as fragrance material.

How to use it
- After toner, apply both halves of the gel mask.
- Leave on for 20 to 30 minutes; it does not dry out.
- Remove and pat in what remains.
