What this serum does
A 40 ml serum built on Melaleuca Alternifolia leaf water with three further tea tree fractions and isolated 4-Terpineol, carrying Zinc PCA, Panthenol, Allantoin and Ceramide NP for blemish-prone skin.
Four fractions, and why that is not padding
Tea tree appears as Leaf Water at position seven — high, above Panthenol and the hyaluronate — then as Leaf Oil, Extract and Leaf Extract further down. Each is a different fraction: the distillate carries the water-soluble compounds, the oil the volatile terpenes, the extracts everything a solvent will take.
4-Terpineol is then listed separately. It is the single constituent tea tree oil is graded on — a good oil runs above 30% terpinen-4-ol — and isolating it means the formulator wanted that specific molecule rather than whatever the batch happened to contain.
Zinc PCA is the quiet one
Sitting near the end is Zinc PCA. The zinc half is used in oil-control and blemish formulas; the PCA half is a component of skin's own natural moisturising factor. It is a small, sensible inclusion that does two jobs at once, and it is the ingredient in here you will not see on the front of the bottle.

- Sodium Hyaluronate
- Sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own; used to pull in water and hold it.
- Ceramide NP
- Ceramide 3. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own.
- 2,3-Butanediol
- Diol. Used to pull in water and hold it; also a preservative booster.
- Tocopherol
- Vitamin E. Used to slow oxidation, in the formula and on skin — here it also guards the tea tree oil.
How the formula works together
Twenty-eight ingredients with no oil phase to speak of. The texture is water, four glycols and two polymers; the only lipids are Hydrogenated Lecithin and Ceramide NP at the very end. That build is deliberate for blemish-prone skin, which does not want an emollient layer on top of an active.
The tea tree group does the antibacterial and astringent work. Panthenol, Allantoin and Beta-Glucan cover the calming side — which a tea tree product needs, because the oil is an irritant in its own right.
Tea tree oil and 4-Terpineol are the fragrance materials. There is no separate perfume.
Who it is for
Labelled for combination, oily and blemish-prone skin. Contains tea tree essential oil — patch test if you have reacted to it before.
How to use it
- After cleansing and toning, apply one to two pumps to face and neck.
- Pat until absorbed.
- Morning and evening. Follow with moisturiser, and sunscreen in the daytime.
