What this ampoule does
A 50 ml ampoule built on Niacinamide and Centella Asiatica extract, with Madecassic Acid, Asiaticoside and Asiatic Acid, a Lactobacillus ferment, Ceramide NP, Phytosphingosine and Polyglutamic Acid.
Cica and probio, itemised
Centella Asiatica Extract is ninth — above the emulsifiers, which makes it a real fraction of the formula rather than a tail entry. Three of the four isolated triterpenes follow: Madecassic Acid, Asiaticoside and Asiatic Acid. Madecassoside, the fourth, is not on this list.
The probiotic side is one ingredient: Lactobacillus Ferment. Nothing in a shelf-stable ampoule is alive, and this is a ferment filtrate — the small molecules bacteria leave behind, not the bacteria. That is what "probio" means on a cosmetic label, and it is worth knowing before paying for the word.
Polyglutamic acid, the one to notice
Near the end sits Polyglutamic Acid, a fermentation-derived polymer from natto. It holds water in the same way hyaluronic acid does but forms a film as it dries, so it tends to feel more cushioned and less tacky. It is more expensive than hyaluronic acid and less often used, which is why it is worth pointing at when it appears.

- Polyglutamic Acid
- Fermentation-derived polypeptide from natto. Used to pull in water and hold it; forms a film as it dries.
- Ceramide NP
- Ceramide 3. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own.
- Phytosphingosine
- Sphingoid base. The backbone that ceramides are built on, and it occurs in your own lipid layer.
- Phytosterols
- Plant sterol mixture.
- Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil
- Oil from macadamia nut. Sits on top and slows how fast water leaves.
- Panthenol
- Provitamin B5. Used to calm irritation, and pulls water into the surface and holds it there.
How the formula works together
This reads more like a light lotion than an ampoule. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride sits at position five and there is a full emulsifier system behind it — Polyglyceryl-3 Distearate, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Cetearyl Alcohol, C14-22 Alcohols. So it is an emulsion, and it leaves a soft finish rather than sinking away.
Three layers of work: Niacinamide and Adenosine signalling; the centella group, Panthenol and Allantoin on the look of irritation; and a barrier set of Ceramide NP, Phytosphingosine, Phytosterols and macadamia oil, with Sodium Hyaluronate and Polyglutamic Acid holding water.
Forty-two ingredients, no fragrance and no essential oil on the list.
Who it is for
Labelled for sensitive and reactive skin. Richer than a typical ampoule — dry skin may not need a cream over it.
