Which brightening ingredient is actually here
Niacinamide at position three sits above every humectant except the glycols and above every structural ingredient. That is a real dose of the most-studied ingredient in this category.
3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid at twenty-four is the second-to-last entry. It is a good vitamin C derivative — stable in water, converts on skin — but at that position it is a trace, and we would rather you knew that than assumed you were buying a vitamin C toner.
Buy this as a niacinamide toner. On that basis it is a straightforwardly good one, and at 210 ml it is sized to be used generously, which matters more for a tone product than almost anything else — consistency over months is what changes pigment.
Twenty-five ingredients, and no oil phase
There is one oily material on this list — Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, the last entry — and it is there to carry the ethyl ascorbic acid, not to moisturise. Everything else is water, humectants, two actives, three calming agents and four fruit extracts.
No alcohol, no silicone, no fragrance, no essential oil, no dye, no acid. For a toner that is applied to the whole face daily and layered under everything, those absences are the reason it works alongside a retinoid or an exfoliant without adding to the load.
The calming half
Centella Asiatica Extract at eight, Panthenol at ten, Allantoin at eleven and Madecassoside at eighteen.
Madecassoside is the one worth naming. It is a single isolated triterpene from centella rather than the whole extract, it is the most-researched of the four centella triterpenes, and it is more expensive than the extract it comes from. Having both the extract and the isolate is a formulator covering the plant from two directions.

How the formula works together
Water, a preservative booster, niacinamide, then four glycols. Xanthan Gum at nine is the only thickener, which is why this pours like water rather than sitting like an essence.
Positions fourteen, fifteen and seventeen — Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol and Xylitol — are one pre-blended sugar complex sold as a single material, not three separate choices. A run of related names at close positions usually means one purchase.
The four fruit extracts at 20 to 23 — papaya, apple, Japanese apricot and grape — are a tail. They are on the label; we are not going to build a claim on them.
Who it is for
Worth checking before you buy: The vitamin C derivative sits at position twenty-four — the working ingredient here is the niacinamide.
Labelled for tone. Suits anyone working on uneven tone or marks left by past breakouts, and it is bare enough to use on reactive skin. It contains no acid and no alcohol, so it will not conflict with anything else you are using. Wear sunscreen — tone work without it undoes itself.
How to use it
- Apply to a cotton pad, or pour into your palm and press it in.
- Pat gently until absorbed.
- Layer two or three times — at 210 ml you can afford to.
- Morning and night, and sunscreen in the morning without exception.
