What this pad does
A 250 g pad soaked in a carrot-led essence — Daucus Carota Sativa Root Extract second on the list, with the seed oil further down — carrying Beta-Glucan and Undaria seaweed extract, formulated to settle the look of heat and sensitivity.
A short list, for a reason
Twenty-four ingredients is unusually few for a pad. There are no acids, no alcohol, no niacinamide, no retinoid — nothing that asks anything of the skin. What is here is carrot, seaweed, Beta-Glucan, Sodium Hyaluronate and Allantoin. This is a calming step, not a treatment one, and the list is honest about that.

- Heterocyclic diureide. Used to calm irritation.
- Glycerin
- Polyol. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own; used to pull in water and hold it.
- Saccharide Hydrolysate
- Hydrolysed carbohydrate. Pulls water into the surface and holds it there.
- Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil
- Oil from olive fruit. Softens by filling the gaps between surface cells.
- Sodium Phytate
- Salt of phytic acid. Ties up trace metals so the formula keeps.
- Hydroxyethylcellulose
- Cellulose derivative. Sets how thick it is.
- Maltodextrin
- Starch-derived polysaccharide. Soaks up surface oil; leaves a light film on the surface.
How the formula works together
Carrot root extract and Beta-Glucan carry the calming side; Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate and Saccharide Hydrolysate carry the water. Two oils — carrot seed and olive — keep the finish from feeling bare, in quantities small enough not to change the texture.
The pad itself does real work. A thick waffle-weave cotton holds more essence and drags less than a thin one, and less friction is the point on skin that is already reacting.
The scent comes from patchouli, lavandin, sage, mugwort and sweet orange oils at the end of the list. They are essential oils and therefore fragrance material — the one thing on this otherwise very quiet list to weigh.

How to use it
- After cleansing, sweep a pad over the face along the lines of the skin.
- Leave a pad on a hot or reddened patch for five minutes when needed.
- Follow with the rest of the routine; no rinsing.
