What this base does
A 40 ml complexion primer carrying Niacinamide, the three barrier lipid classes and five ferment filtrates, tinted with Titanium Dioxide and iron oxide, formulated to even the look of the surface before makeup goes on.
The tint is small, the skincare is not
Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide and iron oxide sit near the end of the list — enough to blur, not enough to cover. What sits higher is Niacinamide at position four, then Ceramide NP, Cholesterol, Phytosphingosine, Squalane and a run of five Lactobacillus and Saccharomyces ferments. That is an unusual amount of skincare for a base.

- Niacinamide
- Vitamin B3. Studied for evening out the look of tone, for the look of pores, and for breakout-prone skin — which is why it turns up in so much of this catalogue.
- Ceramide NP
- Ceramide 3. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own.
- Cholesterol
- Sterol. One of the three lipid classes skin's outer layer is built from — ceramides and fatty acids are the other two, and they work as a set rather than alone.
- Phytosphingosine
- Sphingoid base. The backbone that ceramides are built on, and it occurs in your own lipid layer.
- Squalane
- Saturated hydrocarbon, hydrogenated squalene. A material skin already contains, so it reads as its own; used to soften by filling the gaps between surface cells.
- Lactobacillus/Panax Ginseng Root Ferment Filtrate
- Filtrate of ginseng root fermented with Lactobacillus.
- Saccharomyces/Coix Lacryma-Jobi Ma-Yuen Seed Ferment Filtrate
- Filtrate of Job's tears seed fermented with Saccharomyces.
- Adenosine
- Purine nucleoside. One of the few ingredients Korea approves a wrinkle-care claim for.
- Phospholipids
- Lipid class. Keeps oil and water from separating.
- Titanium Dioxide
- Inorganic pigment. Gives it its colour; makes it opaque rather than clear; filters UV.
- Calcium Titanium Borosilicate
- Glass-based effect pigment. Gives it its colour; makes it opaque rather than clear.
How the formula works together
Two things happen at once. The pigment layer — Titanium Dioxide with a borosilicate effect pigment and a trace of iron oxide — scatters light so that texture reads softer. Underneath it, the barrier lipids and Squalane give the surface something to sit on, which is what stops a primer from clinging to dry patches.
The ferments and Niacinamide are the reason this is sold as a treatment step rather than a cosmetic one. Whether that matters over a few hours is a separate question; what is verifiable is that they are on the list, above the pigments.
Who it is for
Labelled for all skin types, as a makeup base. Note that Alcohol Denat. sits third and the list declares Fragrance with Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol and Linalool.
How to use it
- After your skincare, take a small amount and spread thinly over the face.
- Let it settle for a minute before foundation.
- Use alone on days when only evening the surface is wanted.
